FOMC Holds Federal Funds Rate Steady The Fed held the federal funds rate steady at 2.00% today, September 16, after three dramatic market moving events on September 15 -- Lehman Brother’s bankruptcy, the sale of Merrill Lynch, and the shaky status of AIG.
