US: Inflation slows in April |

US inflation slowed in April. The headline inflation came out at 0.2% M/M and 3.9 % Y/Y (from 4.0 % in March). The core reading declined also to 0.1% M/M and 2.3% Y/Y (from 2.4 % in March). A monthly decline in gasoline prices was a factor behind the slowdown, but also the rise in prices in most non-core items was quite moderate in March.
