Comment: American investors may flock to the perceived safe-haven of US Treasury paper, but for foreigners the decision is not so simple. Ballooning deficits, potentially nationalising all sorts of ‘broken’ industries, and a power vacuum suggest the US dollar will weaken over the coming months.
